Raytheon has been awarded a $745 million contract to support continued production of the SM-3 interceptor, as allied navies work to expand ballistic missile defence inventories.
The contract covers procurement of additional interceptor rounds along with associated support equipment, spares and engineering services.
Production is expected to ramp up over the coming fiscal year to meet demand from both US and allied naval customers.
“The award supports continued production as allied navies expand ballistic missile defence inventories.”
