An allied working group has proposed a common set of standards for tactical UAS interoperability, aiming to simplify cross-service and coalition deployment of small unmanned aerial systems.

The framework would standardise data links, control protocols and payload interfaces, reducing integration overhead when platforms from different member nations operate together.

A pilot demonstration involving several allied air forces is expected later this year, ahead of a formal standardisation agreement.

The framework aims to simplify cross-service and coalition deployment of small unmanned aerial systems.
